(Detroit Workshop on Sunday 1.25.26 from 1-4 pm)

From the West Bank to the Westside: Dreaming of Home is an interactive workshop exploring housing dispossession from Palestine to Detroit, and the systems that shape access to home across generations. Participants will engage in storytelling, reflection, and small/large group dialogue.

Registration is $18 to confirm attendance and support the hosting of this workshop. Light refreshments will be provided.

All proceeds from this gathering will benefit the building of the Dream Center for Dream of Detroit. Participants will have an opportunity to make a direct donation at the close of the workshop.

Hosted by Namira Islam, this in-person workshop will be hosted at Nia Weaving’s Monarch Boulevard, a creative studio, gathering space, and residence on the city’s westside. Address confirmation will be in the email after registration.

Accessibility notes: there is a cat in residence who will be secured upstairs. There are 5 steps to enter the home. Free parking is available on site.
