Welcome to Monarch Boulevard

Nia Weaving’s embodiment space on Detroit’s west side features global-fusion décor, a monarch waystation, and thoughtful design.

Nestled within a home built in 1922, Monarch Boulevard is where our practices are explored through gathering, learning, stewardship, and shared experience.

Let this be your waystation.

  • Monarch Boulevard is the embodiment space of Nia Weaving: a bright, open, plant-rich creative venue located inside a historic home that also houses Nia Weaving’s Tigerseye Creative Studio and a private residence.

Grounded in principles of beauty, collective care for all living beings, and comfort, the space features global-fusion textiles, community-centered décor, and thoughtful resources that support learning, reflection, creative practice, and collaboration.

The grounds include a certified monarch waystation, a pollinator garden, and more than 40 indoor plants that provide an environment for creative connection.

Monarch Boulevard serves as a setting for select workshops, conversations, collaborative programs, and partnership-based gatherings connected to the work of Nia Weaving. The space is especially well suited for nonprofit leaders, community organizations, creatives, and social change practitioners seeking an environment that encourages meaningful engagement and relationship-building.

Monarch Boulevard is a substance-free, alcohol-free environment and is shared with a senior cat resident.

  • In addition to Nia Weaving's own programming, Monarch Boulevard occasionally hosts collaborative projects and gatherings developed in partnership with aligned organizations, facilitators, and community leaders.

Because capacity is limited, opportunities for collaboration are considered on a case-by-case basis.
