Role Summary
Flow Navigators support the operational unfolding of experiences across the Nia Weaving ecosystem.
This role is responsible for guiding the movement of creative projects from planning into lived reality. Flow Navigators help ensure experiences unfold with care, precision, and continuity while remaining aligned with the original intent of the work.
Core Responsibilities
Experience Coordination
Support the execution of workshops, retreats, gatherings, and client engagements
Coordinate setup, breakdown, materials, and transitions across spaces
Maintain detailed timelines, scheduling holds, and operational checklists
Flow Management and Responsiveness
Help guide participant flow and pacing throughout experiences
Monitor timing, transitions, and environmental setup
Anticipate operational friction points and support real-time adjustments as needed
Administrative + Operational Support
Coordinate supplies, vendor communication, and logistical preparation
Support calendar management and event-related communications
Assist with invoicing, documentation, and internal organizational systems as needed
Space + Environment Support
Help maintain thoughtful, welcoming, and organized environments
Support preparation of gathering spaces, studio materials, and hospitality elements
Assist with care and upkeep connected to Monarch Boulevard, Tigerseye Studio, and other Nia Weaving spaces
Reflection + Emergent Learning
Participate in post-event debriefs and operational reflection
Help identify opportunities for improving flow, clarity, and participant experience
Contribute to the ongoing refinement of operational systems and practices
What This Role Is Not
Flow Navigators do not:
Lead facilitation or design core experiences independently
Define organizational direction or philosophy
Function as generic administrative assistants disconnected from the work itself
This role is embedded within an experience-centered practice and requires sensitivity to timing, atmosphere, communication, and relational dynamics.
Ideal Candidates
You may be a strong fit if you:
Enjoy coordinating moving parts in thoughtful and human-centered ways
Are detail-oriented without becoming rigid
Can remain calm and responsive in live environments
Appreciate design, hospitality, facilitation, community work, or creative operations
Are comfortable balancing structure with adaptability
Communicate clearly and follow through consistently
Backgrounds may include:
Event coordination
Hospitality or retreat support
Studio or creative operations
Program logistics
Community-centered administrative work
Production or behind-the-scenes coordination
Work Structure
Project-based to start, with Nia Weaving onboarding to take place before, during, and after projects
Some evening or weekend availability may be needed for events
Hybrid work depending on project needs
Based primarily in Detroit and surrounding areas

As Nia Weaving grows, Flow Navigators may have opportunities to:
Take on larger operational responsibilities
Support cross-pathway initiatives
Help train future operational team members
Expand into specialized coordination or program support roles
